First and foremost, certification involves strict production standards based on:
• farming expertise,
• established scientific and technical references,
• on-going training.
This certification serves two purposes:
• To guarantee seedling quality for farmers and to promote the dissemination of genetic advances.
It involves continuous inspection, which is totally independent of production, carried out by the SOC (Service de Contrôle du Ministère de l’Agriculture - French Ministry of Agriculture's Inspection Authority).
• It is also an effective inspection system (analysis circuit, reference laboratories) which guarantees unfailing credibility. The blue label provides easy identification of the seedling batch, allowing it to circulate freely within the European Union. It facilitates traceability enabling the product history to be retrieved in the event of a problem.
